Ada Classification

Data classification for Microsoft 365 and beyond

Ada Classification is an end-to-end data classification solution: add-ins that run inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, an agent for file servers, and a central management console. Labels are written as Microsoft Purview/MIP-compatible metadata.

Features

From classification to enforcement, in one product

Manual & automatic classification

Users pick a label, or content rules suggest one: national ID, IBAN and card-number validators, regex patterns and trainable, ML-assisted suggestions.

Purview/MIP-compatible labels

Labels are written and read as standard MSIP metadata. Microsoft 365 apps and your existing DLP stack recognize them directly.

Office add-ins

Task panes for Word, Excel and PowerPoint; labeling while composing in Outlook, with on-send enforcement: unlabeled or mismatched email cannot be sent.

File system agent

Scans and labels docx, xlsx and pptx files directly on disk — no Office installation required. Folder watching, reporting and auto-remediation modes.

Signed policy distribution

Policies are distributed centrally with Ed25519 signatures; clients reject any policy whose signature does not verify. Publish from the console in one click.

Tamper-evident audit trail

Every classification event is collected as hash-chained records. An offline queue makes sure nothing is lost when connectivity drops.

Use Cases

What it solves in the field

KVKK & GDPR compliance

Detect and label documents containing personal data, and back your processing inventory with audit records.

Preventing email data leaks

Email carrying confidential content is stopped at send time; users cannot send without labeling.

Labeling legacy file shares

Scan file shares that have grown for years with the agent; classify your existing archive without opening Office.

Preparing for a DLP rollout

Build the consistent label foundation your DLP investment needs to make accurate decisions.

Technical Overview

Platform coverage

Deterministic enforcement is always kept separate from ML suggestions: only rules make blocking decisions.
