9.7 Order and priority

Unlike label order, which is a sensitivity ladder, group order is a priority list. It only matters when a machine matches more than one group.

  1. Decide which groups overlap. For example, a user may be in both the Executives and the Finance AD group.
  2. Put the most specific group at the top.
  3. Click ▲/▼ on the cards. The change is immediate in the draft, with no confirmation.
  4. Publish & Sign. Machines move groups on their next policy sync.

The same order decides which group an Outlook web panel gets when several groups have mail entries covering the same address.
