2.1 What Ada does
Ada Data Classification puts a sensitivity label on every document and e-mail, makes the label visible, and enforces what may happen to the content based on that label. Everything runs on your own servers and endpoints; there is no cloud component.
| Capability | In short |
|---|---|
| Labeling | Users label in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, by right-clicking a file, or for a whole folder. Rules can recommend or enforce a label. |
| Content detection | Patterns with validators (Turkish ID number, IBAN, payment card), keywords, AND/OR logic, exceptions, and AI document types. |
| Visual marking | Header, footer and watermark in documents; header, footer and subject marking in e-mail. |
| Enforcement | Required labels on save, print and send; no downgrade or justified downgrade; print, copy and send restrictions; attachment checks. |
| Masking | Replaces sensitive values with *** in documents and
e-mail. |
| Screen protection | Screen watermark with the viewer’s identity (Windows, macOS); labeled Office windows black in screen sharing and screenshots (Windows). |
| Print trace | A per-page trace code on printed paper that leads back to user, machine and time. |
| AI classification | On-premises model you train with your own documents; Turkish and English. |
| Migration | Reads Microsoft Purview and Titus labels and can convert them to Ada labels. |
| Audit and reporting | Hash-chained audit log, 16 report types, alerts by e-mail and syslog/CEF. |
