8.13 How labels look to users
| Platform | Where users pick a label | What they see |
|---|---|---|
| Windows, desktop Office | ADA Data Classification ribbon button, and the dialog shown at save, send or print when a label is required | Label cards in sensitivity order with colour and description. Sub-sensitivity cards after a label with sub-sensitivities is picked. The suggested label is pre-selected: the current label, else the rule recommendation, else the default label. |
| Windows, Explorer | Right-click → classify (right-click tool) | The same dialog. Works on Office files, PDF and legacy Office files, and on folders (bulk, raise only). |
| macOS | Agent picker (Finder Quick Action and the prompt shown at save when enabled) | The same order, sub-sensitivities and downgrade rules. Markings are written into the file by the agent. |
| Office on the web, new Outlook, Outlook on the web, Outlook for Mac | The Ada task pane | The enabled labels in order, with descriptions. A downgrade shows a justification box, or a block message for Downgrade not allowed. |
Users never see positions or IDs. They only see names, colours, descriptions and the messages caused by restrictions.
